Washi Tape & Project Life

I know it's tutorial Tuesday, but I've not done this week's video yet. So keep an eye out later in the week.

Instead, I have this layout for you, which was made using various washi tape and Project Life by Stampin' Up! accessory kits.

I saw this layout, by Emma Clark on Facebook today and asked if her background was made with washi tape. I'd got it right and felt inspired. Emma challenged me to have a go, without knowing I'd already got the washi tape out!

I've used a few different sets of washi from SU, Watercolor Wonder, Stacked With Love, Epic Day & Sweet Dreams. I also used washi from Hello December Project Life kit, along with the "JOY" woodcut for my title, the black epoxy star sticker and the "baking some memories" journal sticker.

The arrows, hearts and journal card are all from the Love Story Project Life by Stampin' Up! kit. I finished off with some stamped ink splats using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and Stazon Jet Black.

Now the picture, well that's me with my youngest niece Kate and my cousin's little girl. We were making mince pies on Christmas Eve, with Kate's older sisters (Megan & Carys), at my mum's house. The flour was flying... literally! I had gone to sit with my mum for a bit and made them jump when I came back in. Thus the picture!

The picture was taken by Carys, who I was teaching how to use an SLR camera on completely manual. At the time Carys was trying to decide if to do photography at college after her GCSEs. I think she did a great job with the photo, seeing as I'd only thought her about white balance and exposure about 30 minutes before!

Right, off to finish planning next week's scrapbook class and get this week's video shot.
