Father's Day is almost upon us. I haven't had reason to make a card for this time of year for sometime now, but after how well received my cards were at work for Mothering Sunday (most the mum's of my work colleagues got a hand stamped Stampin' Up! card), I thought I'd make some to take in for Father's Day.
I don't know about you, but I really struggle with masculine cards. I mean, what else are you supposed to embellish with if you can't use a flower or a bow?
I grabbed my un-inked Guy Greetings which I bought in February (for my brother's birthday card, but ended up using Balloon Bash, and never gave it to him!). Some Tip Top Taupe card & ink and the Watermelon Wonder brick embossed piece of card I did playing with the new embossing folders at Stampin' Up! Regional Training in Telford last month.
That's where the progress stopped, since about lunchtime yesterday until 3pm today! So, in search of some inspiration I took to the sketch challenges and found this one on Splitcoast Stampers.
I used the new Triple Banner punch for the focal image and hand cut the "World's Greatest" (oh okay, you got me, I used the Scan 'n Cut). The diagonal bit of white ribbon is some of the White 1 1/4" Jute Ribbon, which I cut down the centre and pulled a few strands off, as I didn't want it so wide.
It's all matted on a base of Very Vanilla card.
This is hopefully the first of many, or at least is easily duplicated if the mojo dries up again!
