Celebrate Today

I thought I'd go back to trying 5 cards in 5 days from one stamp set, seeing as I only lasted a week last time I tried this. Any bets on how long this will run for this time?
Celebrate Today was a stamp set and die bundle that was on my wish list the moment I saw the spring/summer catalogue. I was over the moon when I say it was carrying over in to the annual catalogue!

I haven't used it nearly enough, and this is the first card I've made with it that I'm actually pleased with!

The inspiration for this card was this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, you'll find it here. I knew the moment I saw the sketch that this was the set to use.

I struggled with the string on the balloon, as nothing I tried fitted with the look of the card, so I abandoned it for some randomly placed Candy Dots instead.

The colour scheme was inspired by a challenge blog which is new to me, Sugar Pea Designs. I think what I've chosen with the Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi & Crumb Cake isn't too far off.

In other exciting news... Work on the new craft room starts today! I'll have some photos for you on Facebook tomorrow and back here on Wednesday! The work starts with 2 of my uncles (who are builders) replacing the leaky conservatory roof. Once that's done furniture can be bought, flat packs can be put together and Mr Ding gets to build paper storage and work surfaces from bits of wood. I can not wait!
