Snow Place

I am loving this cute new stamp set Snow Place. The matching dies make it so easy to create cards, tags and gift boxes using the images.

My niece Amy adores penguins, which is why it was this stamp set I chose to get first from the autumn/winter catalogue. I thought it'd get her crafting with me again, between work and renovating her new house! We all need some "chill out" time right?

I saw this igloo idea on Pinterest and had to have a go! What do you think?

I've made the box with the Curvy Keepsakes Box die, which was then ran through the Big Shot in the Brick Wall embossing folder. You need to do each side separately, to make sure the bricks all go in the same direction.

I'm going to stamp and cut some hats for the penguin & snowman, but wanted to get this on  my blog today, before work.

Huge drama over my Big Shot. I've had it well over 6 years (which Mr Ding, who's an engineer said was a really good legnth of time), it's before I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and way before SU started selling them in the UK. I went to cut my box yesterday, but the handle wouldn't turn! Mr Ding took the Big Shot apart (wish I'd taken photos, there were bits everywhere). It turned out the bearing in the handle had gone, so Mr Ding removed the bearing. He then put it all back together and it's as good as new! I'm a little disappointed as I wanted a shiny new one in SU colours, but oh well, not to be. Sometimes it's a drag being married to an engineer!
