Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies by Stampin’ Up!

OMGosh! How cute is this little guy? Rhetorical question really. To quote my American friends, "he's so stinking' cute!". He's from the Christmas Cuties  stamp set, and he has 2 friends!
I'm just uploading today's vlog, but have realised I haven't talked about the project in it! I've explained why you've got  video from Stampin' Up! and not a Tool Time tutorial video from me, but haven't talked you through what I've made! So I've abandoned today's vlog and will go back to good old fashioned typing!

Who'd like to know why I didn't get a tool time tutorial done?

This is why! Am I forgiven? You should see my craft desk! Actually you can...

Not the messiest it's looked, and I didn't show you the pile of dies, but you get the picture.

Back to my project. I noticed - after I took the picture of today's project - that the embossing on my elf's bells is a bit of a mess. I wanted to show you haw they looked originally, until I managed to know the embossing off.

Can you see those perfect dots of gold embossing? What happened is, I don't have a Versamark pen, but I do have the reinker and my Blender Pens. So I thought I'd see if it would work popping a bit of Versamark reinker on an acrylic stamp block and using my Blender Pens to pick the ink up. The first two ended up with quite a domed splog, but -as you can see - embossed perfectly.

I made my pillow box, using my new Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies mounted my elf, oh I'd coloured him with Stampin' Write Markers. When I was giving him a firm press onto the pillow box - to make sure he'd bend with the box - I knocked off the 2 embossed bits which had been on the splog of Versamark. I didn't really take my time, and didn't use my Emboss Buddy when redoing the embossing, so ended up with 2 messy bells!

Moral of the story, take you time and use your Emboss Buddy, it really does make a difference. Ooh, think that's going to be Friday's video.

On to the video about the dies. I love Katie, who's presented this video.
